Top 5 Most Gpu Intensive Games Of 2019
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Fanatics of video games are always looking for something new and refreshing from time to time. But sometimes you just want to be impressed by cinematic visuals and if you're looking for graphical prowess in video games, look no further. Below are the top 5 most GPU intensive games in 2019.

1. Metro Exodus

Metro Exodus is the latest entry in its franchise, and it impressively delivers in a lot of ways. It is one of the more action packed games of the year. With a lot of large scale shootouts, stealth mechanics and a lot of exploring to be done.

One minute you're exploring an empty snowy environment, the other you're deep down in a sewer stuck with some creepy monsters.

There is even a desert area, which gives a Mad Max type feel. Overall, with so many different environments, and pleasing visuals, this game is definitely power hungry.

2. Control

Control is a game made by Remedy Entertainment, the same folks who made Alan Wake and Max Payne. If you've ever played either of those titles, this game will definitely please you. It's one of the more refreshing games of the year, with new gameplay mechanics and a next gen feel to it. Honestly, it's an underrated gem.

The character models look absolutely superb, especially the lead character, Jesse Faden. You lurk around the hallways of a secret government agency. You fight through guards, supernatural beings and other-worldly enemies. The most impressive thing is the gameplay. The game allows you to levitate, throw floating objects and even customize your shooting style.

But the graphics are what really tie in the whole experience. Explosions are big and powerful, the atmosphere and ambience is breathtaking and with so much going on both graphically and gameplay wise, this is definitely a demanding game.

Overall, control is a very impressive game that demands a lot of raw power. We definitely recommend checking it out for a breath of fresh air.

3. Red Dead Redemption 2

Now we know it's not a 2019 release, but you can't make a list like this and not mention this absolute stunning piece of art. And that's exactly what Red Redemption 2 is through and through, pure art.

Sure, it's not the absolute perfect video game as some might tell you. The story is a bit slow to boot and the gameplay is nothing new. But it pays attention to every single little detail imaginable. The setting, the character models, even a single strand of hair on an animal gets attention. The game wants you to look for stuff like this and it's hidden all around the world.

Sadly, the game is yet to release on PC, but the consoles already have a hard time keeping up. The launch date is set for this year on PC, so make sure you have the rig to handle it.

4.  Battlefield V

In the introduction to this list, we mentioned that shooting games aren't always visually impressive. Well, Battlefield V is an absolute massive exception to that stigma. It was actually one of the first games to support ray tracing as well, so you can expect your GPU to face a bit of a challenge.

Battlefield V looks almost too good for an FPS game. You might even get distracted gawking at the visuals while you get gunned down by an opponent. We found that the snow maps look especially impressive. The animations of running on the ground, footsteps in the snow, the bullets flying everywhere, all give a sense of some beautiful madness.

Turn on ray tracing with your Nvidia GPU, and you're in for an amazing ride. It is definitely power hungry though, so it's up to you if you want to sacrifice visuals for performance.

5. Shadow Of The Tomb Raider

This is perhaps one of video game history's most beloved franchises. Tomb raider has been very iconic for a long time now. Whether you're a fan of the old classic games, or the new modern reboot, it's hard to dislike the series.

But Shadow Of The Tomb Raider takes the graphics of the previous games, and turns them into something even more astounding. The dense jungles, battered old ruins and flowing rivers look so real you can almost feel like you're in the world. It even uses clever HDR to actually make the lighting even better. The game enhances realism and takes it to the next level.

The tomb raider reboot games have always been a benchmark tool for testers, and Shadow Of The Tomb Raider is no different. It's the type of game you can play to show off you shiny new GPU.

Final Thoughts

You're going to need a powerful GPU to handle all of the games mentioned above. Especially at higher resolutions. On the Nvidia side, maybe you're looking at an RTX 2080. Read this article from PC Guide to find out which variant of the 2080 you should get.

But maybe you're in the AMD camp. Well, their current lineup has the RX 5700 XT, which is a great value for 1440p gaming. If you can't decide which variant to get, read this guide on the best RX 5700 XT GPUs
