ASCAP Award Winner Kari Kimmel Releases New Album 'Gold & Glitter'
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Glow Music Group announces the sixth solo release from singer-songwriter Kari Kimmel. Gold & Glitter is a powerful pop album that embodies the singer/songwriter's unabashed emotion and unwavering do-it-yourself independence that has driven her career since day one. Kari recently shared "High," her second single, via Keyboard and kicked off the project with Blackbook. In an interview with Billboard Magazine, Kari told the story behind the making of her album. Another highlight of this release week, Kari was honored at the 33rd Annual ASCAP Screen Music Awards for her work on THE FOSTERS.

Kari's songs and voice have been featured in over 650 film and television shows, such as World War Z, The Walking Dead, Pitch Perfect I and II, Dreamgirls, Footloose, WALL-E, The Office, New Girl, Southpaw, Pretty Little Liars, the highly anticipated re-boot of She-Ra and and so much more. Kari has written and/or sung over 18 theme songs, including The Fosters which is wrapping up its 5th Season. Her compositions have been covered by artists such as The Backstreet Boys, Ke$ha, Joe Jonas, Demi Lovato, Gloria Gaynor, and more. Kari has also sung background for some incredible and diverse artists she greatly respects: Ringo Starr, Bruce Springsteen Dave Grohl, John Mayer, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Stevie Wonder, Pharrell, Toby Keith and Willie Nelson.

After being signed to two major record labels (Atlantic and Virgin) and a major publishing deal (Chrysalis), the Florida native quickly realized that she needed to free herself from the confines of the typical workings of the industry. Kari says, "It was the best decision of my life. As soon as I decided to be true to myself in every aspect of my career, everything started falling into place." Of her career, the Universal Pictures president , Mike Knobloch said "Kari's super talented and smart about business, Sometimes she'll have something existing that works, sometimes she'll get a brief and create something from scratch. But she's good people: talented, a hustler and great at what she does."
