New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Today, in observation of World Sleep Day, renowned pianist and composer Chad Lawson releases drift (Decca Records US/Universal Music Canada). The EP is a collection of reimagined soothing piano reworks of songs from his highly praised and chart-topping release, breathe. The music was specially arranged to allow you to be lulled to a peaceful sleep with each passing track.

Designed to gradually slow your heart rate as you listen from beginning to end, each song on the five-track EP slows by exactly 10 beats per minute - with the first song starting at 80 BPM and ending at an ideal 40 BPM as you gently drift to sleep. It's a peaceful and purposeful journey into a blissful sleep.

Says Chad of drift, "drift is the perfect album for those looking to drift off peacefully into dreamland. I've recreated five of my favorite pieces from my last recording, breathe, with a serene minimalist texture as each song progressively becomes slower in tempo, with an extra layer of softness and stillness added for your ultimate relaxation. May each note of this release carry you off to an oasis deep in dreamland, far away from reality."

The focus track off the EP, "with you (sleep rework)," is accompanied by a hypnotic visualizer that embodies the soothing spirit of drift.

In addition to drift, Lawson also joins multi-dimensional pianist Gina Alice on a piano duet version of Chad's composition "Of Twilight Skies." Their celestial journey started with both admiring the same stars from different parts of the world, connecting them with genuine wonderment. "Just as we see our own unique twilight in a particular star, we also hear melodies in an individual way," Chad explains. "Gina and I approached the arrangement for "Of Twilight Skies" as if we were playing someone else's gaze into the heavens, creating an individualized experience that resonates with each listener on a deeper level." The resulting graceful fluidity of the "Of Twilight Skies" duet invites audiences to slow down their pace and allow for a deeper relaxation experience.

Chad Lawson's album breathe marked the next chapter in a career that's consistently found the official Steinway artist at the top of the Classical Billboard charts and signing major sync deals for Chevrolet, IBM, Microsoft, and Delta Airlines commercials. Lawson also created Calm It Down, a podcast to help listeners recharge and recenter through the power of music, which now has upwards of three million downloads. He continues his North American tour as a member of Chad Lawson Trio with violinist Judy Kang and cellist Seth Parker Woods this week. See below for a full list of tour dates.
