New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Funk-soul legends Crack of Dawn are proud to announce their tribute to the Motown Christmas hits of old with their festive single, It's Christmas Time. Featuring the velvety soul tones which have made them Canada's most celebrated soul act over the last 40 years, it's a track packed with everything which makes this time of year so special and is guaranteed to melt the heart of even the most committed Scrooge!

With the music written by keyboard player Bela Hajmann and lyrics by regular sax player, Alvin Jones, It's Christmas Time encapsulates all aspects of Christmas in the same way the classic songs of the 50's and 60's did, combining positive imagery with emotion and an effortlessly catchy melody. Inevitably, Crack of Dawn can't help but make Christmas that little bit funky too!

Crack of Dawn were the first black band to be signed to a major label (CBS), having been discovered by Otis Redding's producer and outsold their contemporaries, Earth, Wind and Fire in Canada. Their recent album,
"Spotlight", features a breath-taking combination of grindingly deep funk ("Booby Ruby"); guitar and horn-led sunshine soul ("Crack of Dawn"); the wah-wah-drenched glory of "Somebody's Watching You" and their hugely popular single, the uplifting, back to the future jazz-soul of "Ol' Skool".
