MONTREAL, Canada (Top40 Charts/ Ropeadope Digital) - Indigone Trio will be launching our first full-length album, Cycles, in December 2008 on Ropeadope Digital. The six pieces from the original, self-titled EP have been re-recorded, along with four new works, engineered and mixed by Hendrick Hassert at Montreal's wonderful Studio 270. Indigone's pianist-composer,
David Ryshpan, will be celebrating the album's release at Upstairs (1254 Mackay St, Montreal) on Sunday December 7, 2008 along with Sebastien Pellerin on bass, who made his Indigone Trio debut at the Montreal Jazz Festival, and Mark
Nelson on drums, with whom both
David and Sebastien play frequently.
Indigone Trio's first EP, Indigone Trio & Strings, was released digitally in December 2007 to warm reception (eMusic Editor's Pick, 800 listeners on Last.fm, radio play in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Juneau, AK). Their new album, Cycles, features the Indigone composing core of David Ryshpan and Alex Mallett with new drummer Philippe Melanson, string-playing friends culled from McGill University, performing original compositions and arrangements of Stevie Wonder, Bill Frisell, and Le mystere des voix bulgares.
Hard-copy CDs will (eventually) be available - due to the fluctuating dollar, production details of the CD have been changed at the last minute. We're hoping to have them available at Upstairs, but possibly not. Digital review copies are available now, upon request. David Ryshpan is available for interviews.
