New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Soon after announcing the formation of Blue Engine Records - Jazz at Lincoln Center's new platform to make its vast archive of recorded concerts available to jazz audiences everywhere - the organization announced that the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will embark on the 2015 Blue Engine Tour. The summer leg of the 2015 Blue Engine Tour will bring "the greatest large jazz ensemble working today" (Chicago Tribune) to 12 American cities beginning on July 5 with a first-time performance at the Breckenridge Music Festival.
Blue Engine Tour merchandise tables at the tour venues will enable audiences to purchase Blue Engine t-shirts and pre-order the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis' Live In Cuba album, the debut release from Blue Engine Records.
The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will appear in six of the finest music festivals of the summer including Jazz Aspen Snowmass' 25th anniversary season, where the band will be joined by René Marie, and Tanglewood's 75th anniversary season.
For its first-time appearance at the Caramoor Jazz Festival, the band will be joined by Cécile McLorin Salvant. This is the first year Jazz at Lincoln Center will curate the 22-year-old festival with events and performances for jazz enthusiasts of all ages.
The summer leg of the Blue Engine Tour will conclude at the Castleton Festival in Castleton, Virginia, the location of the first annual Jazz at Lincoln Center Summer Jazz Academy. Members of the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra serve as the faculty for this intensive summer program for high school-age students.
