John Prine Earns Highest Billboard Debut Of His Career As New Album 'For Better, Or Worse' Opens In Top 5 Of Country Albums, Americana/Folk + More
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) John Prine's new album 'For Better, Or Worse' has debuted on the Billboard charts at #2 on the Country chart, #5 on the Americana/Folk chart, #7 on the Independent Albums chart, and #30 on the Billboard 200, making it his highest-charting album to date. The numbers were confirmed the day after John's 70th birthday on October 10, which the Mayor of Nashville officially declared John Prine Day in Nashville.

'For Better, Or Worse', a collection of covers and duets featuring Lee Ann Womack, Kacey Musgraves, Miranda Lambert and others, was released on September 30 via John's own label Oh Boy Records, in collaboration with Thirty Tigers. John celebrated its release with a sold-out, two-night engagement at Nashville's Ryman auditorium on September 30 and October 1. That same week, John performed a song from 'For Better, Or Worse' with Holly Williams on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Watch here: https://bit.ly/2ddJHfu

'For Better, Or Worse' is currently #1 at Americana Radio and has earned widespread praise from the LA Times, Wall Street Journal, and NPR Music, who called the new music "honest" and "emotionally impactful." The Wall Street Journal said, "Mr. Prine excels and delights in the interactive give and take of duet comedy and drama." Mojo called it "heart-warming" and The Guardian called it "joyous," "maudlin" and "gritty."

John will tour select cities in support of 'For Better, Or Worse', including a very special New Years' Eve show at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry featuring Jason Isbell and Kacey Musgraves. Full itinerary below.
