New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Guitarist Nels Cline has released "I Have Dreamed," another new offering from his stunning double-album Lovers, which will be released August 5 on Blue Note Records. The Richard Rodgers/Oscar Hammerstein II standard is the 3rd single to be released from Lovers along with Cline's original "The Bed We Made" and the jazz standard "Beautiful Love." Cline will premiere Lovers live at the Newport Jazz Festival on Sunday, July 31.

Cline was named by Rolling Stone as one of the "100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time," and for the last 12 years he's been a full-time member of the acclaimed rock band Wilco. He has led various groups of his own, most consistently the avant-garde ensemble the Nels Cline Singers, and has appeared as a guest or feature player on more than 200 albums.

But the idea to record Lovers is something the guitarist had dreamed of for over 25 years. Inspired by the likes of Bill Evans, Jim Hall, Gil Evans, Johnny Mandel, Henry Mancini and others, Cline finally realized his ambitious "mood music" project with an ensemble of 23 stellar musicians conducted and arranged by Michael Leonhart. The material on Lovers is wide-ranging, the album's 18 tracks include Cline's striking originals as well as Great American Songbook standards and songs by Sonic Youth, Arto Lindsay, Jimmy Giuffre and others. The album was produced by David Breskin (Bill Frisell, John Zorn) and recorded and mixed by Ron Saint Germain (Sonic Youth, Bad Brains, Living Colour).

Lovers is available for pre-order now on vinyl, CD or download at the Nels Cline Store where a pre-order of the album on any format will enter fans in a contest to win a signed test pressing, signed vinyl, or dinner with Nels, along with a downloads of all 3 instant grat tracks.
