Stacey Ryan Releases Long-Awaited Debut EP "I Don't Know What Love Is"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Stacey Ryan, the 22-year old Montreal singer/ songwriter/ multi-instrumentalist and queen of "Jazz-Tok," whose brand new single "Bad For Me" was released just one week ago, now celebrates a career milestone with the arrival of I Don't Know What Love Is, her long-awaited debut EP available today via Island Records/Universal Music.

In addition to the R&B-tinged "Bad For Me," with its ethereal falsettos, jazzy horns, and soulful production, the 6-song EP gathers three more previously released singles: fan-favorite "Fall In Love Alone," "Deep End," and "Over Tonight," plus new tracks "The Idea" and "Somebody Good." (Please see track list below.) The majority of the EP was recorded at Henson Studios in Los Angeles, home to "We Are The World" and many other legendary recordings. Many iconic artists have recorded here as well including Carole King, Joni Mitchell, and John Lennon.

"This EP came to be in February of 2021, and it was a super exciting time in my life as I had just signed with Island Records. We hopped into songwriting sessions and emerged with 20-ish songs that would contain the whole EP and we didn't even know it yet. I've been super fortunate to make this project with my closest friends, THE ELEVEN and Boy Blue in LA, who are some of the most talented musicians/ producers I ever worked with. After picking our favorite songs we realized there was a common thread between all of them: they're all about a different kind of love or relationship, and there's no true typical love song on it either… that's where the name I Don't Know What Love Is came from!" - Stacey Ryan.

The release of I Don't Know What Love Is underscores the finale of the Peace Love & Pluto Tour with Jake Wesley Rogers, a 7-week, 30-city road trip across the U.S. and Canada, wrapping April 13th in Austin. On April 28th, she crosses the pond for two weeks of European shows with Joshua Bassett across Germany, Amsterdam, Paris, and the UK. Looking ahead, Stacey will be appearing at Java Jazz in Indonesia (Indonesia's biggest music festival,) the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland (one of the most prestigious jazz events in the world,) and Mad Cool festival in Madrid.
