Stanley Clarke Masters Score For "Barbershop" At Bernie's
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Four-time Grammy winner Stanley Clarke dropped in at Bernie's with recording engineer Bobby Campbell and drummer Gerry Brown to master the score soundtrack to "Barbershop: The Next Cut" with mastering engineer Mike Bozzi.

Director of the film Malcolm D. Lee said, "I love working with Stanley because each time he helps elevate and deliver the vision of my film through the power of great music and musicianship. Like his score for "Boyz N The Hood," this "Barbershop: The Next Cut" score is the heartbeat of the film that rides the wave of emotions that it delivers. I'm thrilled to have this great music released as it should."

Clarke is one of the most celebrated acoustic and electric bass players in the world, and is equally gifted as a recording artist, performer, composer, conductor, arranger, producer and film score composer. A true pioneer in jazz and jazz-fusion, Clarke is particularly known for his ferocious bass dexterity and consummate musicality. Unquestionably, he has attained "living legend" status during his over 40-year career as a bass virtuoso.

About his work on "Barbershop: The Next Cut," Clarke says: "This is my 6th movie working with Malcolm D. Lee. It is always great to work with a comprehensive and detailed director. I am very happy to contribute to this successful franchise. This movie in particular has a deep relevant connection with the times we live in."

The soundtrack is now available on CD and digital formats. The comedy "Barbershop: The Next Cut" is a presentation of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and New Line Cinema, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures and MGM.
