The Return Of A Legend: Hank Marvin - 'Without A Word' Released 2nd June 2017
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Hank Marvin - the man who defined the sound of a generation releases 'Without A Word', his 16th solo album, on 2nd June 2017 - just in time for Father's Day. This new release is Hank's first since the Top 10 success of the eponymously titled HANK in 2014 and is available on CD, Limited Edition signed CD and Limited Edition Red Vinyl including a signed photograph. 'Without A Word' will be available to download on iTunes and for streaming via Spotify, Apple Music, and Amazon Music from the release date.

'Without A Word' features 14 new recordings all of which are given Hank's interpretation of some of his all-time favourite tunes. Featured tracks are The Fool On The Hill, Cry Me A River, What a Wonderful World, Moon River, Alfie, Are You Lonesome Tonight, Don't Get Around Much Anymore, America, Peter Gunn - Baby Elephant Walk, Michelle, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow, TV theme tunes from Doctor Who and Poirot along with one new original composition Russian Doll which Hank co-wrote and recorded with his son Ben.

Initially best known as the lead guitarist of The Shadows, the band that evolved to become the UK's biggest selling instrumental group, Hank has also enjoyed a long and successful solo career lasting almost 60 years. Hank & The Shadows ruled the charts during the early 1960s achieving huge record sales worldwide.

Recognized as one of the most influential guitarists of all time and cited by the likes of Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Peter Frampton, George Harrison, Brian May, Pete Townshend, David Gilmour and Mark Knopfler, Hank's unique sound and subsequent influence on popular music cannot be underestimated.

Hank was the very first in the UK to own an iconic Fender Stratocaster - when Cliff Richard imported the guitar from the US exclusively for Hank to play - since then generations of guitar players worldwide cite him as the man that inspired them to pick up their first guitar, a tribute confirmed when he regularly features high on the list of polls that determine the greatest guitarists of all time.
Appealing to fans of all ages, 'Without A Word' looks set to be another successful release for the man who created 'that sound'.
