The Uli Geissendoerfer Trio Introduce Their New Release "Long Way Home"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) If you lived in Las Vegas Nevada USA you would know that at one point everyone great musician stops by the entertainment capital of the world to either visit "the meadows", as it is referred to locally, or become part of its bustling and multilayered musical brew. Such it is with pianist and producer Uli Geissendoerfer. In 2009 Uli moved from New York to become the pianist, conductor and bandleader with Cirque du Soleil's production "Viva Elvis" and started teaching at UNLV after the end of its run. Seeing the need for a Jazz Club he created the Jazz Club at the Dispensary Lounge, now in its seventh year. It since housed Jazz luminaries from all around the globe and for several cats from LA it has become a little second home. Uli's new Trio album "Long Way Home" documents the synergy of the Trio backing up three four nights a week a continuous stream of these great artists, singers and instrumentalists from all over. It features Angelo Stokes and Dave Ostrem on drums and bass respectively, and features six originals, some astounding Beatles covers and a Standard for good measure. (Please see the links below to check it out). This is year he founded the non-profit label Vegas Records. It connects the young students of Jazz and creative music in Vegas with their past through the Living Archive of Jazz in Vegas and provides a gateway for their first productions through Scholarships and production grants. Uli is also the Curator of the Steinway Concert Series at Southern Nevada Music and is faculty at the new Jazz Project at Nevada School for the Arts. In other words he's busy spreading the Gospel of Jazz. Come seek him out when in Vegas and on the web in the meantime.

The album is titled "Long Way Home" which is currently on the Grammy ballot in three separate categories. For those of you that would like to review the new album we've included a link to SoundCloud for your listening enjoyment.
