The Weeknd's 'I Feel It Coming' Video Director Warren Fu On Filming 'Love Story In A Cursed Land'

New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The Weeknd and Daft Punk link up once again in a mysterious video for Starboy's standout smash, "I Feel It Coming." The Weeknd travels to an intergalactic fantasy world in the Warren Fu-directed visuals, which carry a'80s theme with VHS effects. Performing the funky track on a rocky planet, Abel dances to the groove with some slick moves before his model love interest appears before him. However, a solar eclipse turns everything dark and turns his woman to stone. As Abel attempts to capture a snake who roams around them, he's frozen in time as well.

In the end, The Robots show up in the midst of a snowstorm, they look down at something that appears to be buried. A pink neon glow shines through the snow and the "Starboy" theme plays.

A love story in a cursed land" - that's basically the elevator pitch director Warren Fu came up with for his mythologically inspired video for The Weeknd's "I Feel It Coming." "It's almost like a fable, something in a storybook you'd read as a kid, so I tried to think of a darker ending, and that image popped into my head," he says of the final scene featuring Daft Punk, in which they wipe some dust off a mysterious screen. Fu says that mysterious shot was a reference to the apocalyptic nuclear holocaust flashback at the end of James Cameron's Terminator 2. "When they're wiping the dust off at the end, it can look like the first chapter, but I wanted to leave it open-ended, so you can also see it as a Möbius strip reference back to the painting I did that's in the background scene in the 'Starboy' video," he says.

The Weeknd is currently on his "Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour" through Europe with Bryson Tiller and Lil Uzi Vert. The North American leg with Rae Sremmurd, 6LACK, and Belly kicks off April 25 in Vancouver.
