New York, NY (Top40 Charts) The recording of Vaughan Williams: Piano Concerto; Oboe Concerto; Serenade to Music; Flos Campi featuring the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) received a nomination for a 61st annual GRAMMY® Award in the Best Classical Compendium category.
Released on the prestigious Chandos label in June 2018, this recording celebrates the Orchestra's renowned principal players and a focus on Canadian soloists, and displays a passion for the music of Vaughan Williams. The recording was captured during acclaimed live performances at Roy Thomson Hall in November 2017.

The 61st annual GRAMMY® Awards take place on February 10, 2019, in Los Angeles.
Last year, the TSO was nominated for a 2018 GRAMMY® Award along with the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir for the recording of Handel's Messiah orchestrated and conducted by Sir Andrew Davis, with soloists
Elizabeth DeShong, John Relyea, Andrew Staples and Erin Wall.

Music Director in 2020. Sir Andrew Davis is well known to Toronto audiences, having a 44-year relationship with the TSO. Maestro Davis opens the 2018/19 season and returns to the TSO stage regularly in each of his two seasons as Interim Artistic Director. Gustavo Gimeno will begin serving as the TSO's
Music Director in 2020/21.
The TSO was founded in 1922 by a group of Toronto musicians and gave its first performance at the historic Massey Hall. Since 1982, Toronto's iconic Roy Thomson Hall has been the TSO's home, drawing patrons from around the world. Soon to celebrate its centenary, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra's name remains synonymous with musical versatility and growth, and artistic distinction.
