Miami, FL. (Top40 Charts/ Sony BMG) - In a recording market that becomes more modern and competitive by the minute, "Apollo Music" opens its doors, under the competent helm of
Angel Carrasco, an executive with a proven track record of many years in the recording industry, and a key player responsible for the success of many of music's biggest stars of the past two decades.
"Apollo Music" will be distributed by Sony BMG and is super charged with innovative concepts.
Among the new projects is an album by the great Puerto Rican balladeer Lourdes Robles, the recording of a brand new project for the exciting Myriam Hernandez, another production with a fine group of songs written in homage to different peoples and cities, interpreted by Albita, Rey Ruiz and Donato Poveda, –three of the greatest exponents of Cuban music- as well as two compilations of the greatest hits of Guadalupe Pineda y Emmanuel, these latter hitting the stand on April 24.
"Two of the industry's indispensable requisites are adapting to changes and listening to what the people want," says Carrasco, who has worked closely with the careers of such international artists as Gilberto Santa Rosa, Jose Luis Perales and Chayanne, just some among a long and stellar list.
During his brilliant entrepreneurial career spanning more than 27 years on the CBS roster, Sony and more recently Sony BMG, Carrasco has been responsible for the triumphs of artists of the stature of Yolandita Monge, Luis Enrique, Victor Manuelle, Johnny Ventura and Braulio, among others. Also, during the 90's and as president of Sony Mexico, he placed such figures as Vicente Fernandez, Ana Gabriel, Ricardo Arjona, La Mafia and Alejandro Fernandez on top of the charts and in terms of breaking record sales.
Upon his return to the United States, he attracted the distinguished company of such stars as Celia Cruz, Oscar D'Leon, Olga Tanon and Franco de Vita.
Experience, intuition, and passion for Latin music, all key ingredients to ensure a most auspicious debut for this exciting new company.
"Apollo Music" already opened the doors to its offices in Miami, and assures the launching of over 20 new record productions through the remainder of the year.
