'Despacito' Ties Mariah Carey's Record For Most Weeks At No 1
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) At 16 weeks, song of the summer "Despacito" has tied with Mariah Carey's hit "One Sweet Day" for most weeks at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
21 years after Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men set the record for most weeks at No. 1 with "One Sweet Day," Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, and Justin Bieber tie the milestone with a 16th week atop the Billboard Hot 100.

Fonsi celebrated the victorious moment on Instagram. "This is historic for Latin Music," he exclaimed. "Thank you guys for all your support… feeling very blessed right now🙏🏽 Gracias @daddyyankee, @justinbieber #Despacito #MakingHistory @billboard."

The record-breaking continues as Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" remains in the top 10 for an unprecedented 33 weeks. This week, it arrives at No. 9, surpassing The Chainsmokers and Halsey's "Closer" and LeAnn Rimes' "How Do I Live," both of which spent 32 weeks in the top 10.

Elsewhere, DJ Khaled, Rihanna, and Bryson Tiller's "Wild Thoughts" remains at No. 2, while Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow" holds at No. 3. Down the chart, French Montana and Swae Lee's "Unforgettable" dips 4-6, Bruno Mars' "That's What I Like" stays at No. 8, and Yo Gotti earns his first top 10 record with "Rake It Up" featuring Nicki Minaj.
