LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Kalle Kaliente PR) - Kalle Kaliente '07, an urban music, art and food festival, will celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by kicking off its 10-city tour with a hot, six-hour event on Sunday,
September 23, on the grounds of the Los Angeles Sports Arena. From legendary
Latino hip hop performers to celebrity tattoo artists to a 100-foot graffiti canvas, Kalle Kaliente promises to provide non-stop entertainment to young, hip Latinos.
Unlike most other Hispanic Heritage events, Kalle Kaliente highlights the creative musical and artistic contributions of U.S. born Latinos to urban culture - graffiti art, hip hop, reggaeton, and lowriders, among others. Most Latinos are U.S. born, and the median age for all Latinos in this country is 27. Many of these individuals have strong roots in both American and Latino traditions and, as a result, are changing various facets of Latino and American art, music and lifestyle in order to fit their own world view.
Kalle Kaliente Los Angeles will feature renowned hip hop artists such as Pitbull, Akwid, Amanda Perez and Crooked Stilo, just to name a few. In addition to the continuous musical performances, Kalle Kaliente will also provide a platform for amateur DJs, MCs and B-Boys to go head to head at the Kalle Kaliente Battle Stage. The winner in each category will earn a cash prize and a spot in the Kalle Kaliente finals in Las Vegas. In Las Vegas, winners from around the country will compete for the national Kalle Kaliente championship. Graffiti artists will 'perform' as they spray their cans of paint on an oversized canvas live at the event. There will also be booths serving Latino fare.
Kalle Kaliente is set for 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., Sunday, September 23, 2007. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster for $45, or at the door for $50. For more information, log on to https://www.kallekaliente.com or call the Kalle Kaliente hotline at 323-465-4197.
