New York, NY (Top40 Charts) At the 2018 edition of Spain's prestigious Premios Ondas, the Latin Grammy nominated alt-rock group Vetusta Morla has won Best Show, Tour or Festival for its June 23 concert at the exterior esplanade of Madrid's Caja Mágica. This venerable awards ceremony is in its 65th annual edition and is produced by Grupo Prisa.

In a statement, the Ondas Awards noted that Vetusta Morla was victorious thanks to "The concert's high attendance - 38,000 - and for the group's big step forward in stagecraft and attention to detail. Vetusta made every song into a unique experience for its fans. It finds itself at a pivotal moment in its career, parlaying a grassroots following into one of Spain's most faithful fan bases, and turning its live performances into an essential component of its artistic concept."

Vetusta Morla reacted to this honor: "Today we are filled with gratitude to the jury of Premios Ondas for this recognition. We also thank our team of superheroes and superheroines for their commitment; and of course the fans who honor us by participating in every concert and by once again transforming our home."

The June 23 concert was part of the Madrid group's tour in support of its latest album Mismo Sitio, Distinto Lugar (Same Site, Different Place). This tour has taken Vetusta Morla to Latin America, Portugal and many cities in Spain. It will continue in November with nine dates in Central and Northern Europe.

Representing Vetusta Morla's best-ever attendance as a headliner, the June 23 concert has been cited by the press and the music industry as not only a milestone for the band, but also for the drawing power of homegrown talent.

To celebrate this historic concert and relive this incandescent moment along with its fans, Vetusta Morla recently released the June 23 live version of its song "La Vieja Escuela" (The Old School) as a single and video.
