SANTA MONICA, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) A&M Octone recording artists VIVA BROTHER return to the US with a new name but the same attitude. "We have just about recovered from our last trip to the States so we figured it's about time to return," said Lee Newell, frontman. "We're awfully excited to see everyone again and of course to make some new friends (and enemies no doubt). The revolution continues! Viva Brother!"
The four young lads from Slough take a break from the European festival circuit with North American dates which commence July 16th in San Diego and wrap on release day, August 2nd in NYC.
Emblazoned across the cover of NME, the Brit-rock tabloid proclaimed VIVA BROTHER as "The Return of the Great British Guitar Band." Yes, we know the press likes to pounce on any hot new thing. (Especially the British press.) But this time... Well, this time... "They're quite right, this time," laughs Newell. "We've created the band we'd like to listen to. It was easy."
Celebrated producer Stephen Street (the Smiths and Blur) approached VIVA BROTHER after hearing a batch of the quartet's songs. Famous First Words is a ten-track opus for a generation of texting teens, their faces up out of their phone screens, mouths wide open and chanting in unified sing-a-longs.
This past spring, VIVA BROTHER made their late night debut on Late Show With David Letterman with a performance of their single, "Darling Buds of May."
