Black Match Releases Cathartic New Single "Nowhere"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Black Match create music that is sincere and emotional, combining dreamy instrumentation with cathartic vocals and expert production. Their new single, "Nowhere," serves as the perfect introduction to the duo. Written about the agony of a love lost, "Nowhere" manages to perfectly capture the different elements that make up grief. Wrought with anguish, despair and indescribable yearning, the song grips you like a desperate lover and refuses to let go. "Nowhere" is now available to download and stream worldwide.

The gorgeous strings and unforgettable first instances of Hannah Kenny's celestial voice seconds into the song provides the listener with an immediate heartfelt introduction and connection. Shortly followed by Ian Kizanis' supporting vocals and a resonating kick drum comparable to a heartbeat, the duo brings about a beautiful harmonic contrast that makes the lyrics of longing, craving, and heartache a focal point to their aesthetic. Kenny and Kizanis intend to deliver a pantomiming expression of strong withdrawal as if that absence of love has left you void of a central body part. "Almost all of our songs are written for or about human connection and all that comes with it, including heartache, longing, fulfillment, unfulfillment and growth," they explain. "Raw and honest songwriting is most important to us - in a world that is often exploitative and shallow with its words, our goal with this music is to write with real emotion and poetic honesty."

Kenny and Kizanis have been playing together for 12 years, yet they still have their own respective backgrounds in their journey as musicians. Kenny grew up in a musical family who shared interests in singing and musicianship, but saw it as a therapeutic process while in college. She has been influenced by many musicians, but cites Adele as the heaviest impact with her powerful voice and raw songwriting. Kizanis grew up playing classical piano with his father and hovering over musical influences like cinematic scoring, the use of orchestra, old pianos and soundscapes. In addition to starting the piano at five years old, Kizanis gradually grew to be passionate about guitar and singing, with classical influences ranging from John Williams and Frederic Chopin to James Morrison and James Vincent McMorrow. Black Match's recent singles, "Won't Let Go," "Same Old Things" and "Poison & Wine," have garnered over 300K plays on Spotify. They also had a cameo and their music featured in the upcoming feature film Coast produced by Bruce Dern (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained) and Sonya Lunsford (The Help), the movie is set to hit the film festival circuit worldwide later this year.
"Nowhere" is available now for download and streaming worldwide. Keep up with Black Match by visiting BlackMatchmusic.com.
