New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Cumbrian punks COLT 45 are pleased to announce the first in a series of singles club releases - six A and B sides over the course of the next year - with 'Hard Times/17' available to purchase on 24th April 2017 via Bandcamp.
The singles will be released as digital downloads with a limited edition CD available at all upcoming UK tour dates with Welsh alt rock band Straight Lines. To celebrate the news, the band have today revealed a brand new DIY video for A-side 'Hard Times' which was shot in their home town of Workington and their rehearsal space.

Front man Neil Harper explains of the new material: "Hard Times is a song about growing up, changing, coping with the everyday struggles in life. We recorded these tracks just over the Scottish border in Dumfries which is really convenient for us. It's a relaxed vibe with our friend Grant which has led to some very natural sounding songs. We wanted to approach these tracks in a similar way to last year's 'Snakes & Ladders' EP - we don't have time or budget to spend weeks in a studio so this way of working feels right for us, and we're really excited to get these new tunes out there."

Finding themselves back on the independent path following the folding of former label home Visible Noise Records, the boys took some time to regroup and eventually rediscovered what it was that made them fall in love with music in the first place. With the newfound freedom to release whatever they want whenever they want, they looked to their youth for inspiration.

"In eight years, we've never released a proper single before" says drummer Adam Lewis "We've promoted lead tracks for all our releases, but we've never actually done a single with a B side. We all remember how important singles used to be, and collecting B-sides and rare versions of tracks was always something we loved growing up. So the idea of doing a 'singles club' over the next year is a great way to deliver new material regularly and sets everything up nicely for our next album."
The tracks will also feature on their forthcoming next album, alongside more new songs with a 12" vinyl release for the first time.
