Los Angeles, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Republic Records) - FAIR TO MIDLAND, hailed as "utterly captivating" (KERRANG!) for their "potent emotional hard rock" (Los Angeles Times), are following up their first radio hit "Dance Of The Manatee," with a second single "Tall Tales Taste Like Sour Grapes" off their debut album FABLES FROM A MAYFLY (Serjical Strike/Universal Republic). FABLES debuted on Billboard's Heatseekers chart this past June at No 3. Of "Tall Tales," lead singer and lyricist Darroh Sudderth says "I suppose you could say that this is a song that stirs my Irish blood..." Over the track's driving momentum, he sings "The devil's in the air and I'm spitting out prayers/While the rubbernecks all get their fill." Recently featured in the October 2007 issue of Alternative Press- which praised FAIR TO MIDLAND for a "gargantuan" and "unique" brand of rock-the band is also announcing new dates supporting Serj Tankian in San Francisco at Slim's on October 28 and throughout the UK and Europe in November. The band's return to San Francisco with Tankian marks their second turn there opening for a major act; FAIR TO MIDLAND also landed the coveted opening slot for the first two nights of The Smashing Pumpkins' residency at The Fillmore this past July. FAIR TO MIDLAND's return to Europe with Tankian in November follows on the heels of their acclaimed appearances at major rock festivals and sold-out shows with Dir en grey throughout the UK and Europe this past summer. The band-alongside Gallows, Bullet For My Valentine, Arch Enemy, Funeral For A Friend and Enter Shikari-was also chosen to headline one of KERRANG!'s Awards Week shows in August.
