Female-Fronted Rock Group Alchemilla Releases Their Fourth Official Album "Hearts"
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Female-fronted rock group Alchemilla releases their fourth official album, "Hearts." If Sylvia Plath and Jimmy Page had a bare-knuckeled brawl then shared drinks with The Doors and Sleater Kinney, Alchemilla would be playing in the background. Alchemilla delivers a darker, purpose-driven atmosphere, consisting of thought-provoking lyrics and brawling rock instrumentation that encourages having a wild good time.

"This is a moody collection of songs that can make you shake your ass, punch a wall, or cry in your whiskey," says Kat Burke, the group's lead vocalist.

In 2010, Alchemilla released Chasing Ghosts, featuring the single "Bleeder," which is playable in the best-selling video game Rock Band 2. They have served as the house band for the Cambridge-based theater production Blood Rose Rising, and performed Chasing Ghosts' title track as the show's theme song. They have since worked on projects with renowned producer Tom Polce.

Singer/lyricist Kat Burke and songwriter/guitarist Joe Bondi started writing and performing together in high school during the '90s. Alchemilla formed in 2002 as a trio, but expanded over time, adding songwriter/guitarist Jon Sprague in 2002, drummer Chad Miller in 2009 and bassist Josh Nachbar in 2013.

"Hearts" was produced by Jordan Tischler (London Grammar, Tiesto) and was mastered at MWorks, which has worked with groups such as Nirvana, Aerosmith, and David Bowie.

Catch Alchemilla live:
6/28 - at Venue in Boston as part of the MergeArts Showcase
8/1 - "Yes All Women" at The Middle East in Boston
