Not slowing down even in the last three weeks of the year, MEGADETH received a GRAMMY® nomination, hosted and performed at this years' Revolver Music Awards, where they picked up Best Guitarist (Dave Mustaine and Kiko Loureiro) and Best Drummer (Chris Adler) awards, and band leader Dave Mustaine was presented with a Lifetime Achievement award.

The week was followed by NYC promo where they also performed their GRAMMY® nominated song "Dystopia" on Late Night With Seth Meyers. Watch their performance here: "Dystopia"

Global Metal Pioneers MEGADETH Wrap Up The Year With Grammy Nomination, Revolver's Lifetime Achievement Award And TV Performance

2017 GRAMMY® Award for Best Metal Performance for the title track from their new album Dystopia. The band was thrilled to hear the news and shared the news with their fans. Watch here: https://www.megadeth.com/grammy

Dystopia debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, alongside Adele and Justin Bieber, No.1 on the Hard Music/Top Rock Chart, No. 2 Top Album Sales Chart, peaked at No. 27 at radio, and marked the highest charting album for MEGADETH since 1992's Countdown To Extinction, which debuted at No. 2. Dystopia also debuted at No. 2 on iTunes' Top Albums chart, No. 1 on iTunes' Metal chart, and is featured in the Best of 2016: Metal playlist on Spotify with the title track "Dystopia" featured in their Top Tracks in Metal list.

Globally Dystopia achieved top 10 debuts in Canada (No. 2), Japan (No. 2 international chart), Finland (No. 3), Mexico (No. 4), Czech Republic (No. 5), Australia (No. 6), New Zealand (No. 6), Switzerland (No. 7), Poland (No. 8) and Germany (No. 10), which along with Belgium, Ireland and Spain contributed to achieve MEGADETH's highest ever chart positions in their thirty year history in a total of 10 countries around the world. Other countries with significant sales or chart debuts included UK, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Netherlands, and France.

Dystopia made national Top 2016 lists including Rolling Stone's 20 Best Metal Albums of 2016, (No. 6 on), Revolver's Top 20 Metal Albums of 2016 (No. 2) and Loudwire's 20 Best Albums of 2016 (No. 12) as well as their Best Metal Songs on 2016 (No. 2) for the title track "Dystopia."

Their cutting-edge Dystopia package, campaign and partnership with CEEK VR earned them the prestigious SILVER CLIO for their collaborative project in the world of music marketing and advertising joining other Silver Clio winners including Walt Disney Records for Star Wars, Intel for Lady Gaga, Coke, KitKat, Samsung for Rihanna, JBL and more.

Their album and world tour were met with overwhelming global praise including:
"Vital and menacing thrash…Megadeth sound reborn on Dystopia." — Rolling Stone
"Dave Mustaine hits the reset-to-brilliant button." — Metal Hammer (UK)
9 out of 10, Album of the Month
"For the band's 15th full-length, Dystopia, Megadeth waste no time reminding long-time listeners why the hell they loved the band in the first place." — Paste

"'Dystopia' sees Megadeth come within hailing distance of their dazzling best." — KERRANG! (UK)

"Dystopia is an absolutely blistering return to the state-of-the-art bombast and refined technicality of past glories like Rust in Peace and Endgame." — The Guardian (UK)

"Megadeth's best album since 'Countdown To Extinction.'" — Rock Hard (Germany)
8.5 out of 10, Album of the Month
MEGADETH spent 2015/2016 touring the world in support of Dystopia including shows in 4 continents, 33 countries and 160 tour dates. Reviews from the shows all echoed the same sentiment:

"On this night, a night of perfect metal mastery, they sure were. And the crowd left exhausted and exuberant, excited and ecstatic, newfound friends in metal, every one of us"— Under The Radar

Dave Mustaine oversaw production and launched Megadeth beer "A Tout Le Monde." The Belgium style Saison Ale, is in partnership with Unibroue, one of the most highly awarded breweries in North America. The first batch is already completely sold out.

Dave Mustaine hosted the Classic Rock Awards in Japan. In addition to his hosting duties, he joined Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Johnny Depp, Joe Perry, Rudolph Schenker and others for an all-star performance to the sold out audience at Ryogoku Kokugikan Stadium.

The movie LANDFILL HARMONIC was released, a documentary which includes the story of MEGADETH travelling to Paraguay to meet and perform with young artists (and MEGADETH fans) who play classical music on instruments constructed from recycled metal and wood found in a landfill.

One of the original "Big Four," MEGADETH burst onto the scene thirty years ago, virtually invented a genre with their debut album Killing Is My Business… And Business Is Good! (recently recognized by VH1 as the Greatest Thrash Metal Debut Album of All Time) sold more than 38 million albums worldwide, earning numerous accolades including 12 Grammy® nominations, scoring five consecutive platinum albums—including 1992's two-million-selling Countdown to Extinction.
