Heavy Metal Singer Dee Snider Wins $325,000 On Behalf Of Moms And Babies On NBC's "The Celebrity Apprentice"
White Plains, NY (Top40 Charts/ Dee Snider Official Website) Dee Snider, heavy metal singer turned radio host and actor, was the winning Project Manager last night on NBC's The Celebrity Apprentice and donated $325,000 from fundraising efforts to the March of Dimes. As a celebrity contestant, Dee used his fame, personal connections and business acumen to raise money and win the task. He endured long hours, grueling deadlines, intellectual challenges, personality clashes and intense scrutiny under the careful watch of Donald Trump and his advisors. However, the challenges were faced head-on in expectation of a greater goal -- raising money and awareness for his charity of choice, March of Dimes Bikers for Babies.

"Dee is a true champion for all babies," said Dr. Jennifer L. Howse, president of the March of Dimes. "We are blessed to have a volunteer like Dee Snider. He is both an exceptional March of Dimes volunteer, and a wonderful person. We are thrilled by the generosity of his time and donation. These funds will directly support our mission to give all babies a healthy start in life and our National Prematurity Prevention Campaign."

Dee has a personal connection with the mission of the March of Dimes because two of his four children were born prematurely.

This month is the March of Dimes signature fundraiser, March for Babies, that will take place at the end of April in nearly 900 communities across the country. To help support Dee's charity anyone can join a walk by visiting marchforbabies.org. The money raised will support March of Dimes research, education and community programs to help moms have full-term, healthy pregnancies and healthy babies.

Dee Snider has been a March of Dimes volunteer, supporting Bikers for Babies, for more than a decade. If you ride, Bikers for Babies events will take place throughout the country, with most occurring September 15 or 16, 2012. Each ride to benefit babies is about 70 miles long, with every mile counting to help fight premature birth and give every baby a healthy start in life. Visit bikersforbabies.org to find a ride near you.

The March of Dimes is the leading nonprofit organization for pregnancy and baby health. With chapters nationwide, and its premier event, March for BabiesĀ®, the March of Dimes works to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
