New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Interscope Records) Last week was a busy one for Party Rock/will.i.am/Cherrytree/Interscope recording artists
LMFAO who performed their official apology anthem "
Sorry For Party Rocking" on American Idol
Thursday night in a high octane performance that included a shuffling zebra on stage. That same day the nominations for the 2012 Billboard
Music Awards were released and
LMFAO was a finalist in 17 categories (second only to
Adele who was a finalist in 18 categories) including Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Duo/Group and Top Pop Artist.
LMFAO will bring the party to Las
Vegas when they perform on the 2012 Billboard
Music Awards broadcast live from the MGM Grand
Arena on May 20th.
If watching them on television doesn't get you shuffling you can catch
LMFAO and their party rock anthems on the road starting May 22nd in Columbus, OH when they kick off the Redfoo and Cherrytree Present: Sorry for Party Rocking Tour Featuring
LMFAO and the Party Rock Crew and Special Guests Far East Movement, The Quest Crew,
Sidney Samson, Eva Simons,
Natalia Kills and Matthew Koma. The Live Nation promoted tour kicks off May 22nd in Columbus, OH at Nationwide Arena. Tickets are still available at Ticketmaster.com and Livenation.com. A complete itinerary follows this release.
The Sorry for Party Rocking Tour will mark the return to the concert stage of Sky Blu who was sidelined for the past five months when he suffered a severe back injury. The injury forced Sky to miss the remaining Canadian Cherrytree Pop Tour dates, a European run and most recently dates in Asia, but Redfoo and the Party Rock Crew kept the party popping and entertained audiences totaling over 300,000 fans around the globe. Sky continues to diligently work to put his body back together so he could be well enough to perform 90 minute shows each night when he tours North
America this summer. Sky Blu is back May 22nd! "I am looking forward to getting out on the road and wiggling for all the
LMFAO fans. It's been a long road but I'm coming back. I really missed my fans," says Sky Blu. Adds Redfoo, "It's gonna be amazing to have Sky Blu back in full effect. You can bet we will be taking lots of Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots, Shots!... to celebrate his return, Yeeeaah baby!"
LMFAO's sophomore album Sorry For Party Rocking was certified gold earlier this year and is quickly approaching platinum. The album has produced two #1 singles, "
Party Rock Anthem" and "Sexy And I Know It." LMFAO's videos combined have seen over 950 million views on VEVO.
LMFAO's "
Party Rock Anthem" has surpassed 13.5 million units in total sales worldwide! "
Party Rock Anthem" was the #2 top selling song of 2011 on iTunes in the U.S. behind Adele's "
Rolling In The Deep" and it was the #1 selling song on iTunes in the UK, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark, Norway, Finland and Sweden. Their music has been licensed by movie and television shows, including
20th Century Fox's holiday hit "Chipwrecked," Fox's TV hits "Glee" and "Touch," Universal Pictures' "American Reunion," and the top charting game "Just Dance 3."
LMFAO has performed on numerous television shows including Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, The
Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Good Morning America, The American
Music Awards and Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve with Ryan Seacrest and Redfoo and Sky Blu shared the stage with
