MTV Video Music Awards 2012: The Nominations
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Rihanna and Drake are leading the way at this year's MTV VMA awards, with five nominations each. As the nominations were officially announced, it was revealed that Rihanna is nominated in categories including Video of The Year, in which she has two chances to win with We Found Love and her Drake duet Take Care, as well as Best Pop Video and Best Female Video.

Other strong contenders include Katy Perry, who was last year's big winner, who received four nominations.

The 29th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live from the STAPLES Center on Thursday, September 6, 2012.
