Tonight We're Going OUT Out, Mercedes' track 'Stars' is featured in 'This is 40'; the sequel to the movie Knocked Up, due for release Christmas 2012. She recently earned her first top 20 track as a writer in August this year, penning the lyrics to 'Double Up' for Korean girl band sensations, Two X.
Raised in Copenhagen, and of South American and Jamaican descent, Mercedes was an entertainer from an early age. In her teens she formed a dance group with 3 other friends and, inspired by Salt-N-Pepa and

Nicole Scherzinger and Snoop Dogg.
She cites classic hip-hop as a key influence on her music, having been introduced to A Tribe Called Quest, Public
Enemy and
Beastie Boys when she was a youngster. Her party-anthem influences stem from her love of flamboyant artists with personality such as
Grace Jones, Bjork, Neneh Cherry and
David Bowie, which has led her to develop her own distinctly urban-influenced sound, combined with original electronic rhythms.
The Camden-based girl has been busy writing and recording new music with producers including Robbie Lamond (Devlin, Katy B),
Breakage (Jess Mills,
Roots Manuva) and WoZ (Black Butter) for release throughout 2013.
