Whether on the twangy album opener "It Ain't Gonna Happen Today," the venue ballad "The Royal Tavern," or the punchy takedown "Hearts & Flowers," Nudie once again returns to the table with his masterful blend of first-person narratives and vintage country tones that harken the likes of Dwight Yoakam,
George Jones, and Sturgill Simpson.
The album also features a duet with Evening Hymns' Sylvie Smith ("Mr. Why'd You Come To Texas?"), and guest appearances from Ryan
Weber (The
Weber Brothers), Chris Altmann (Tim Hicks, Michelle McAdorey), and Melissa Payne.
Over the last year, Nudie opened for Marty
Stuart & His Fabulous Superlatives, and showcased at the Americana
Music Festival in Nashville.
