Richie Sambora Weathers The Storm To Thrill Over 25,000 Fans In South Korea
Seoul, South Korea (Top40 Charts/ Webster & Associates) Celebrated American rock icon Richie Sambora, best known throughout his remarkable 30-year career for his raw vocals, indelible songwriting and world-class guitar playing, braved the heavy rain and lightning to take the Citybreak Festival stage in Seoul, South Korea, tonight.

"I traveled thousands of miles across the globe to perform for these fans and I wasn't going to let them down," says Sambora. "With over 2 hours of rain and everyone wanting to cancel the show, we found that right time to take the stage and rocked it out making sure nobody left disappointed."

With the venue under strict city curfew, Sambora shortened his set to include fan favorites "Lay Your Hands On Me," "Every Road Leads Home To You," "Nowadays," "Living On A Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive."

As both an acclaimed solo artist and a founding member of multi-platinum, Grammy-winning band Bon Jovi, Richie has sold over 130 million albums worldwide and has co-written over 20 Top 40 hits and 11 Top 10 hits, including "Livin' On A Prayer," "You Give Love A Bad Name" and "Wanted Dead or Alive." He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009 and has collected over 68 gold and platinum albums.

In addition to his work with Bon Jovi, he has released three acclaimed solo albums that have highlighted a more personal and intimate side to Richie's songwriting: 1991's Stranger in This Town, 1998's Undiscovered Soul and 2012's Aftermath of the Lowdown, which spawned the powerful single "Every Road Leads Home To You."

Sambora was born in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and raised in Woodbridge. He got his first guitar in 1971 when he was 12, and started playing in bands three years later. A diversified music listener, Sambora comes from a background of The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin and "a lot of blues stuff". Sambora had the opportunity to explore all of his musical avenues when he was afforded the making of his first solo album, "Stranger In This Town". "Mr. Bluesman", a single from the album, was inspired by Clapton, and when he agreed to play lead guitar on the track, a longtime dream of Sambora's was filled. He is a self-taught musician and plays many instruments such as all guitars, piano, bass, drums, trumpet, saxophone and accordion. He divides his time between Los Angeles and New Jersey with his daughter Ava Elizabeth, who was born on October 4, 1997.
