New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Southern California pop singer, songwriter and producer Robbie Dean may only be 20 years old, but he's an old soul when it comes to music. Inspired by the greats like Michael Jackson,
Stevie Wonder and even The Police, he started writing songs at 12, began songwriting collaborations after graduating from the O.C. School of Arts and two years later was one of the "go-to" songwriters and producers at the OC Hit Factory. Now, he's releasing his much-anticipated debut single "Lose My Cool" on March 9, produced by Grammy-Winning Producer Jeeve (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears).
Considered by Dean to be his favorite and the "most lyrically-personal song he's ever written, "Lose My Cool" is a radio-friendly pop track that showcases Dean's velvety-smooth vocals while embodying a deeper, more honest examination into the songwriter's life than most artists share - especially right out of the gate.
"I wrote this song about a toxic relationship that I was involved in. It's got a dark, sultry side to it but also has positive aspects and that's what I like about it. The writing process for the song was unique as well," said Dean. "I think I wrote the pre-chorus first, then the verses and chorus last, which was super weird but I feel like it ended up sounding more authentic because of it."
"Lose My Cool" is the first of a collection of songs that Dean and Jeeve collaborated on for Dean's release this spring/summer.
"Lose My Cool," will be available starting March 9 on iTunes, Spotify, GooglePlay and wherever digital music is sold.
