New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Strawberry Girls released their album "American Graffiti" today. The eagerly awaited follow up to their 2013 release "French Ghetto" is a different sound from what fans may be used to. "We tried a lot of things that we hadn't in the past with this album" guitarist Zachary Garren explained. "We really wanted it to seem as much like its own sound as possible. We tried to make our chord progressions more unique, our songs both heavier and softer than anything we'd previously done, and toy with poppier and slower styles, which we hadn't really done before.
This album is a lot more varied than what our fans might be used to when it comes to our music." The album is available today only through Merchbucket and Bandcamp and will be available on itunes on November 27th.
Drummer Ben Rosett described the new album, "We set out to make the craziest, grooviest, most beautiful record we could...and American Graffiti is definitely that record. We are so insanely excited for people to finally hear the album after spending two years writing, recording, editing, and mixing it. It felt like forever, but it's finally here."
In addition to the "American Graffiti" release today, the band also kicks off the tenth anniversary Dance Gavin Dance tour in Portland, OR. Also on the bill are Slaves, A Lot Like Birds and Dayshell. The support for this tour includes former DGD members Garren, Jonny Craig (Slaves) and Kurt Travis (A Lot Like Birds).
