Tame Impala, Wild Nothing, Beach Fossils - "Turkish Shoegaze Newcomers" - CLASH Magazine
New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Green Light Go) Reaffirming the Turkish bands ability to call upon their "unknown" surroundings and generate their very own indie dialogue, The Away Days' new video for their upcoming single "Your Colour", showcases a softer side to their mystery and allure - one that provokes spirited and mesmerizing silence displayed through their native landscape.

"Your Colour" was directed by The Away Days frontman Oguz Can Ozen -- It features the lush and shifting landscape of Besiktas, Istanbul, a location where the Sultans of the Ottoman Empire once lived. There is an unspoken dialogue that takes place in the video, however much of our questions are soon answered through the listless gazing and sluggish movements illuminated by the glowing sunset. The descent signifies both "joy and sadness," according to Ozen and it remains to be the backdrop for the long departure over the wooden bridge and the characters' separation.

After being formed in 2011 their success did not go unnoticed and they performed at dozens of live shows including The Newcomers Festival, where they were pointed out as a promising young act. They played at SXSW, The Great Escape and toured UK in May. They were supposed to play on the same stage with The Vaccines, Foals and Blur in June 2013 but that festival has been cancelled, which caught NME's attention, who later interviewed the band. Also a huge number of national and international media mentioned The Away Days as a band to be noticed.

They have released their debut EP How Did It All Start late 2012 and keep performing at the most important music venues. They have released their first music video song called "Galaxies". It was played on KEXP, Amazing Radio and much more. Also featured in Guardian and NPR's SXSW coverage.
Praise for

PeopIe know little/nothing about Turkey's music scene right now. Nevertheless, I know one thing, Istanbul's The Away Days are quite wonderful." -Gold Flake Paint

"My only complaint is ["Your Colour"] is too short because it's almost like a teaser. -KEXP - DJ Shannon

"A band from Istanbul, play their first ever international gig mid-afternoon in a hotel lobby. Turkish shoegaze might not be a major phenomenon, but given the breadth of their talent, it soon could be." -Mischa Pearlman - The Guardian
