New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Indie Music Channel) Local area singers and bands who lost musical instruments during Hurricane
Harvey are getting some help from their own. Artists from across the country are being invited to perform on stage during "United We Jam," a day long music festival to be held Wednesday,
September 13 from 3pm to 12 midnight at Firehouse Saloon in Houston, TX.
Music lovers are welcomed to come and enjoy artists of all genres - rock, pop, country, jazz and more.
The event is also looking for those who wish to donate any music items that they may have to those who lost guitars, amplifiers, recording equipment and more during Hurricane Harvey. Those who lost their musical equipment in the hurricane are invited to come to the event and take what they need, free of charge.
The event is also being held to support Matthew's Hope Foundation, a Houston-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides assistance to those who are struggling with a drug addiction.

About Matthew's Hope Foundation
Matthew Wedekind of Houston, TX was an outstanding trumpet player. He played trumpet in high school and was First Chair for all four years as part of the school's concert band. One day in college, Matthew was "sucker punched" while trying to defend his roommate during a bar fight and suffered a severe head injury. The opioid painkillers that he was prescribed following his head injury created a life-long battle with cocaine and heroin. Two years ago, on May 23, 2015, Matthew died after falling out of a chair and hitting his head on the exact spot of his previous head injury. He was only 24 years old. Matthew's family has since started the Matthew's Hope Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping others who are struggling with a drug addiction.
