LSO ANGELES (Top40 Charts/ Columbia Records) - 'Falling Slowly,' the signature duet by Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova from the surprise hit movie musical 'Once,' was named Best Song at the 13th Annual Critic's Choice Awards January 7, in Los Angeles. Other nominees in the category included Eddie Vedder's 'Guaranteed' (from 'Into the Wild'), Anthony Hamilton's 'Do You Feel Me' (from 'American Gangster'), and entries from 'Enchanted' and 'Hairspray.' The Critics' Choice Awards aired live on VH1.

Last month, the 'Once' soundtrack (Canvasback/Columbia Records/Sony Music Soundtrax) was also voted Best Music from a Film by the Los Angeles Film Critics Association.

The 'Once' soundtrack is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Compilation Soundtrack Album category, and 'Falling Slowly' is nominated for a Grammy in the Best Song Written For A Motion Picture category.

'Once' was one of the best-reviewed films and albums of 2007, and its unlikely ascent continues in 2008. The soundtrack jumps from No 77 - No 38 on this week's Billboard Top 200 Chart, after moving No 122 - No 77 last week.

The album is currently in the Top 5 on the iTunes and Amazon album charts. It was also included in iTunes' Best of 2007 round-up, highlighted as one of their top-selling albums of the year, and AOL Spinner named 'Falling Slowly' the song of the year.
