Kenny Chesney Rocked Green Bay's Lambeau Field With Its First Concert
NASHVILLE, TN. (Top40 Charts/ Shore Fire Media) Kenny Chesney threw a party for over 45,000 fans on Saturday night at Green Bay's Lambeau Field, the legendary stadium's first concert in 26 years. The Green Bay Press Gazette raved that Chesney, "his energy level somewhere just shy of superhuman all night, masterfully mixed it up for fans" and threw a "concert of historical proportions," a celebration for Green Bay residents and out-of-towners alike.

"Playing Lambeau Field was just about the biggest thrill of my life," Chesney said. "It was everything I imagined it would be and more. The crowd in Lambeau hit us like an avalanche and they never let up. The connection was unlike any other, and I am so proud that my band and crew and I are now a part of the rich history and tradition of Lambeau Field in a small way.

"To stand in that stadium, in that city, and hold the Packers' Super Bowl trophy that was named after the man that made such a mark on the sport was something I never dreamed of when I first started this journey," he continued. "I had chills performing 'The Boys Of Fall' in a place where football means so much to so many and where a lot of history lives. I was in awe the whole night, and I will never forget the feeling of playing in Green Bay."

Chesney, a die-hard football fan, welcomed Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy to the stage during his set, hoisting the Lombardi Trophy awarded for the team's 2011 Super Bowl and eliciting an eruption of excitement from the crowd. Chesney's show was the first concert at Lambeau since 1985.

"We're absolutely thrilled," Terry Charles of show promoter PMI Entertainment said. "The entire Chesney crew and production staff were fantastic to work with, and it was just a fabulous night."

The Green Bay show marked yet another landmark show on the blockbuster 2011 Corona Presents Kenny Chesney's 'Goin' Coastal' Tour, unquestionably one of the year's biggest. 'Goin' Coastal' has already sold more than one million tickets, with many more milestones - including three sold-out nights at the world famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre, where the country superstar has never before performed - still to come. "You and Tequila," Chesney's current single and duet with Potter from 2010's 'Hemingway's Whiskey' (BNA), is rapidly climbing the Billboard Hot Country Songs Chart, and the album has already spawned three No 1 hit singles.
