New York, NY (Top40 Charts/ Cinemedia Promotions) - Lakeshore Records will release the original soundtrack for Creation, available digitally (iTunes and Amazon Digital) on January 19th and in stores on February 2, 2010. Christopher Young (Drag Me To Hell, The Uninvited) composed the music, marking his fifth collaboration with director Jon Amiel (Copycat, The Man Who Knew Too Little, Entrapment, The Core).

Composer Christopher Young incorporated an 80-piece orchestra for Creation. Amiel has directed a wide range of films and continuously collaborates with Young because of his ability to transcend genres. The composer created memorable action scores for two Marvel movies: Spiderman 3 and Ghostrider. His spine-tingling score for The Grudge propelled the film to a sleeper hit and his recent score to Drag Me To Hell is already making several film music site listings as Best Score for 2009.

Christopher Young has received numerous awards and nominations throughout his celebrated career. He was honored at the Temecula International Film & Music Festival with the award for Outstanding Career Achievement in Film Composing. He has been nominated for two Emmys (Norma Jean and Marilyn, Last Flight Out) and received both Golden Globe and Broadcast Film Critics Association Award nominations for The Shipping News. Two years ago, Young received BMI's highest honor, The Richard Kirk Career Achievement Award. In addition to his busy film-composing schedule, Young is imparting his knowledge to a new generation of film composers. He has taught at USC since the early 90s and bought a house to offer free residency to fledgling young composers because he never forgot his own personal struggles.

Creation is the powerful and true-life tale of Charles Darwin (Paul Bettany) and the most explosive idea in history.

A world-renowned scientist, and a dedicated family man struggling to accept his daughter's death, Darwin is torn between his love for his deeply religious wife (Bettany's real life wife Jennifer Connelly) and his own growing belief in a world where God has no place. He finds himself caught in a battle between faith and reason, love and truth. This is the extraordinary story of Charles Darwin and how his master-work 'The Origin of Species' came to light. It tells of a global revolution played out in the confines of a small English village; a passionate marriage torn apart by the most provocative idea in history - evolution; and a theory saved from extinction by the logic of a child.

Universal Pictures presents Creation released in limited release on January 22, 2010. Creation original soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be available via iTunes and Amazon Digital on January 19th and in stores on February 2, 2010.
