Lakeshore Records To Release In Treatment Soundtrack
Los Angeles, CA (Top40 Charts/ CineMedia Promotions) Lakeshore Records will release the In Treatment - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack available digitally on February 15th. The soundtrack features original music composed by Richard Marvin (Surrogates, TV's Six Feet Under and Without a Trace) from the first two seasons of the hit HBO series.

Richard Marvin was a top studio keyboardist playing for composers including Maurice Jarre, David Newman, and Tom Newman to name a few. In the 1980s, he also worked extensively with Mike Post who gave Marvin the opportunity to compose for The A-Team and Hardcastle & McCormick. Marvin's television work also includes Wanted, Thief, The O.C., Without A Trace, and Three Rivers. He has also written music for the films Surrogates, U-571, The Narrows, Breakdown, 3 Ninjas and 3 Ninjas Kick Back.

An emotional and provocative series, In Treatment brings dynamic focus to a staple of modern society - the psychotherapy session. Adapted from a popular Israeli series, this show follows psychoanalyst Paul Weston (Gabriel Byrne, who won a Golden Globe(R) for his role) through his week, capturing sessions with his patients.

The first two seasons of In Treatment aired five nights a week on HBO. It earned critical acclaim along with Emmy(R), Golden Globe(R) and Writer's Guild awards. Each episode of the series focuses on a different patient seeing his/her therapist, including Dr. Weston himself, who visits his own analyst (played by Dianne Wiest).

"In Season 1 there were specific themes for each character, developed over the course of the season," described Marvin. "Season 1 also had more of a 'vibey, groovy' end credits."

By the second season, Dr. Weston has been through a divorce and has relocated to Brooklyn, where he sees patients in his home. "In the 2nd season, the producers were less concerned with the thematic development and character themes," said Marvin. "There was more of an effort to be more transparent and sparse, especially on the underscore cues." As a result the Season 2 score features more conventional orchestrations.

In Treatment airs weeknights on HBO. In Treatment - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack on Lakeshore Records will be released digitally on February 15, 2011
