"The correlation between childhood trauma and becoming an abuser later in life cannot be ignored...To me, it's the root of the problem".

The story revolves around the evolution of Richie Price - a child raised in an abusive household who grows into a young man struggling to deal with anger and alcohol issues.

"The correlation between childhood trauma and becoming an abuser later in life cannot be ignored," says Green, who created the film after discovering a history of domestic violence in his own family. "I wanted to make a piece that highlighted this. To me, it's the root of the problem".

"Gifts of My Kin" has screened at the following film festivals in 2016:
Los Angeles International Short Film Festival
California International Short Film Festival
Awareness Film Festival
Green is currently working on a faith-based feature film that continues the story. "The focus shifts to treatment in the next film. I want to explore ways we can truly break the cycle of violence in these families."
