The main distinctive feature of the upcoming spin-off is its all-female cast, starring Sandra Bullock, Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Mindy Kaling, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Helena Bonham Carter, and Awkwafina. The premier scheduled on June 8 is estimated to gather 30 mln, yet their definitely some fear that the film may follow in steps of 2016's fiasco "Ghostbusters," which never managed the cost of its production and advertising campaign, and finally ended up losing the studio almost $50 mln. Another factor playing against the movie is that it will have to compete against the fourth weekend of Deadpool 2 as well as the week of Solo: A Star Wars Story, with many potential attendees might rather prefer going to one of the above.

Nevertheless, Ocean's 8's team is placing bets on a safe opening weekend, while they hope that its older target audience doesn't always rush to theaters on opening night and is likely to wait for critics reviews and word of mouth.
