Post Malone & 21 Savage's "Rockstar" Shatters Apple Music Streaming Record
New York, NY (Top40 Chart) Those still doubting whether or not Post Malone has solidified himself in rap's upper echelon should be silenced now, as his new 21 Savage-assisted single "Rockstar" has broken Apple Music's streaming record for a single by garnering over 25 million plays in its first week.
The 21 Savage-assisted track, which debuted at No. 2 on the Hot 100, smashed Apple Music's single-week streaming record in its opening week, with over 25 million streams. Previously, the record was held by DJ Khaled's star-studded "I'm the One."

Carl Chery, Apple Music's head of artist curation, told The Verge that the track benefitted from the streaming platform's support, much like Malone has throughout his career.
"We just have a long history of supporting Post Malone, even before he got signed. 'White Iverson' was being heavily supported in iTunes — that song is old enough that Apple Music wasn't even live yet. We were supporting him heavily back then, and we did the same thing with the Stoney project last year," he explained. "The process is pretty simple for us, if we like it, we support it."

As such, "rockstar" received prominent placement on three of Apple's largest rap playlists, including The A-List, It's Lit, and #OnRepeat. As a platform, it generated 56 percent of the first week streams, as well as 41 percent of the market share, according to the report.
White Iverson, who is currently on the "Stoney Tour" in support of his debut album, plans to release Beerbongs & Bentleys next.
