New York, NY (Top40 Charts) It is our mission to make the world's music more playable, and this is a huge step in that direction.
Sheet
Music Plus, home to the world's largest online sheet music selection and SMP Press, a free digital platform for uploading and selling sheet music, today launched ArrangeMe. With ArrangeMe, arrangers may now legally arrange a selection of copyrighted songs to sell exclusively on Sheet
Music Plus through the SMP Press platform. The program makes many additional types of arrangements available to musicians and music makers.
Sheet
Music Plus worked with music publisher Hal Leonard to provide SMP Press users with over 1,000 award-winning hits, Broadway tunes and favorite chart-toppers to arrange.
Access to the ArrangeMe program is free and Sheet
Music Plus, together with Hal Leonard, ensure that copyright holders are properly compensated for the sale of these arrangements.
In addition, this program greatly expands the breadth of musical arrangements available for music makers. Traditionally, only the most popular instrumentations of a song are arranged - often, only a piano-vocal-guitar arrangement. However, the demand for non-conventional instrumentations has grown tremendously. The ArrangeMe pilot program saw the creation and sales of many unique arrangements, including saxophone quartet, clarinet choir, as well as very easy and very difficult pieces. These instrumentations of popular music are scarce in the traditional sheet music publishing industry.
"Launching ArrangeMe is a huge game changer for arrangers and musicians," said Jenny Silva, CEO of Sheet
Music Plus. "It is our mission to make the world's music more playable, and this is a huge step in that direction. Until now, if you played an uncommon instrument or were part of a group outside of the traditional instrumentations offered, it was very hard to find an arrangement that enabled you to play popular music. We're very proud to, yet again, encourage the creation of original music among our independent community of arrangers and composers. We take great pride in that."
To commemorate the launch, Sheet
Music Plus is launching a contest especially for arrangers. Top selling arrangements among four different categories will win $300. Submissions will be accepted beginning today through May 31st. The selling competition of titles will run from June 8 - July 12th. For more details, visit: https://smppress.sheetmusicplus.com/contest
