Music & Beer Fest seeks to offer a bit of something for everyone with delicious beer offerings from Guinness, a selection of the tastiest bratwurst in
Chicago (more on this later), and a well-rounded music lineup featuring prominent national and regional bands on top of an all-star cast of local favorites. Friday will see Nashville's 6-piece guitar army Diarrhea Planet closing out the night, but not before Madison's lawless perps Masked Intruder make a break for it. Saturday features special rare performances by a couple of indie favorites from Kansas: '90s post-hardcore Shiner warms up the stage for indie-pop darlings The Anniversary. Sunday wraps up with textured gothic-style indie rock that only Bloomington, Indiana's Murder By Death can pull off, following a new project from The Promise Ring's Dan Didier called Dramatic Lovers.
For over twenty years, Star Events has reigned over the street festival scene in Chicago—and the Midwest—producing events of all sizes, including the iconic Taste of Randolph. Riot Fest will host its 13th annual eclectic music festival this September, and keeps busy year-round presenting 100+ club shows throughout Chicago. It's not the first time these two have teamed up—they co-produce Chicago's premier Latin music festival, Ruido Fest, which concluded its third year in July.
