Mobile App and Weaver Films today announced the world premier of the movie Love, Her, about a relationship fueled by correspondence messaged on the lettrs social network. Messaging and the modern concept of romance get a fresh look with a tale of mobile love letters.
The 25-minute film, produced by Weaver Films and set in India, tells the story of two young people, tired of social media, who find each other through the 21st century version of letter writing -- the messaging app lettrs.
The film is being shown today in a private screening in New York City for lettrs guests and investors. The movie based on the power of words will also be released publicly via a live stream on YouTube the same day.
A modern day love story, the movie shows the twists and turns of a young man on a mission to meet the girl behind the words of her letters. At the heart of the story is the ultimate message that words can transform our lives.
All letter writing, stamping, and signatures portrayed in the film use the lettrs network, which translates messages real time in 80 languages and has experienced over 3 billion network impressions of public letters and mobile stamps. The highly popular app is available via iTunes and Google Play, and integrates letter sharing on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and What's App.
"It's amazing when you a see a story translate from a global language network like lettrs to reality," says movie director Joel Thottan. "But Love, Her as you will see it, isn't just a story of two people meeting, it's instead made of the many individuals who've each left a part of themselves in this film to finally help it come alive. Without the universal hopes of letters and words this love story would not have happened."
Love, Her is the second film to be integrated on the globally popular lettrs messaging platform. Last May, lettrs partnered with Relativity Media to amplify the message of freedom and drive fan mail for the internationally acclaimed movie Desert Dancer.
"When the world thinks all messages and texts are disposable, this movie tells us that mobile words can be just as magical and lasting as letters past," said lettrs Founder & CEO Drew Bartkiewicz. "We are a network for mobile letters of the next generation, with Love Letters only a small part of this story."
