American Idol Winner Scotty McCreery Comes To The State Theatre This March
New York, NY (Top40 Charts) Season 10 winner of American Idol and record-setting performer Scotty McCreery will take the stage at the State Theatre for the first time on Sunday, March 24. McCreery will be joined by special guests Fairground Saints.
Show time is 7:30 PM. Tickets are $58/$48/$38 and can be purchased by visiting the State Theatre Box Office, 453 Northampton Street, Easton, by calling 1-800-999-STATE, 610-252-3132 or online at www.statetheatre.org. Sponsored by CAT Country 96, N. Pugliese, Inc. and RCN.

After winning American Idol in 2011, McCreery made history when he became the youngest male artist of any genre, and the first country music artist ever, to have his debut album enter at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart. Clear as Day was certified Platinum for sales of one million units in just 13 weeks and became the best-selling solo album released by a country artist in 2011. The singles "I Love You This Big" and "The Trouble with Girls" were also certified Platinum. He won the New Artist of the Year award at both the Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards and the American Country Awards, and also received the CMT Award for Breakthrough Video of the Year for "The Trouble with Girls."

A year later, Christmas with Scotty McCreery debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Holiday Albums chart and was quickly certified Gold. His next album, 2013's See You Tonight, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, and "See You Tonight" and "Feelin' It" both reached the Top 10 and were certified Platinum and Gold respectively. "See You Tonight" earned McCreery both his first BMI Award for writing one of the Top 50 Country Songs of 2015, and his first Music Row No. 1 Challenge Coin for landing atop the Music Row Country Breakout Chart.

His greatest breakthrough may have come in February 2015, when he wrote "Five More Minutes" with Frank Rogers and Monty Criswell. On its first day of release, "Five More Minutes" was ranked No. 2 on the iTunes country singles chart and No. 9 on the iTunes all-genre singles chart. It debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Country Digital Sales Chart, McCreery's highest ranking on that chart since his debut single in 2011. Most recently, Scotty McCreery had the No. 1 single on both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Country Airplay charts for two consecutive weeks with his romantic love song "This Is It."

Fairground Saints literally and creatively made the trek of 2,042 miles from the California Coast to Nashville. Like a montage out of a movie, the California-bred trio-Elijah Edwards, Meg McAllister, and Mason Van Valin-met by way of various social networks and Craiglist postings, locked into a once-in-a-lifetime groove, sold everything, packed up, and headed to Nashville. Within two weeks of relocating, they drummed up a palpable buzz and landed a deal with Sony Music Nashville. They had already earned acclaim from NPR, Huffington Post, and more as early recordings "Can't Control The Weather" and "Turn This Car Around" amassed millions of streams. Moreover, they toured alongside everyone from Brothers Osborne and Sara Evans to Scotty McCreery and Kip Moore-who after hearing them for the first time invited them to open for him. Touting a striking singular sound, they pave a musical highway between Laurel Canyon and Music City, finding a shortcut to universal bliss by way of country, pop, and rock. These three lifelong musicians transmit real stories through real instrumentation and make a real connection.
