Florence, Italy (digifestival.net/finalevent) - The second edition of DigiFestival.net / Multimedia festival in streaming video / 2006 Edition a multimedia exhibition of short movies and videos from several art disciplines held on the www.digifestival.net website.
The Cultural No-profit Association Art in Vision, organizer of the event, renews its appointment in the 'real world' with a big event rich in video, music and photography at the Mercafir in Florence, Italy.
The Mercafir A Pavilion with its 2700 square meters will be transformed for one night in a meeting place with the digital dimension of creativity.
A large installation-exhibit of images and sound with the continuous projection of the winning works in audio/video points dedicated to each discipline of the festival (Movies, Video Art, Music, Photo, Animation and Sport video).
The winners of DigiFestival.net 2006 Edition are: Music, CC Sound Factory ('So Shiok'), Singapore; Movies, Simon Dekker ('The Execution of Margot Rumebe'), Canada; Video Art, ex-aequo Helga Maestrini ('Liquida.mente') and Schejla Massellucci ('Boum'), Italy; sezione Animazione, Serdar Camlica ('Awaken, The Mind Travel'), Turchia; Photography, Benjamin Pezzillo ('SleepWalking in VGA'), USA; Sport, Abraham Michael ('Wuji'), Italy. The mosto voted video by the web audience is 'Volume on Speed' di Pamela Vitale (Video Art section), USA.
Many thanks to the specialized jurors who presided the jury: Roli Mosimann, Marco Mancuso, Lucilla Brancato, Silvano Mezzatesta, Lorenzo Guasti, Franco Morabito.
The DigiFestival.net event will also host precious artistic Italian initiatives tied to cinema, music and digital photography such as: a selection of the Milano Film Festival works presented in the 2006 Edition; Cantiere d'Arte 'L'Arte come Fotografia / La Fotografia come Arte' cured by Fiammetta Strigoli; Digiarte 2006, cured by Lorenzo Guasti with a selection of the exposed photos; Blume, indie-electronica band on top of indie Italian charts; Festival della Creatività, initiative promoted by the Government of Tuscany to be held from November 30th to December 3rd in Florence.
On stage we will have performances by Italian and international artists such as: Alexander Robotnik, Vladislav Delay – Luomo, Alessio Bertallot (B-Side Radio Deejay), Andrea Gelli (Play Radio - Rin Digital) and the visual performance by Lab080.
The VIP Area – IN[SIDE] – that will host guests, artists, press and the jurors is set up by Gianni De Simone and Jean Paul Carradori with an installation equally balanced between video projections, light design and graphical elements.
