Enrique Iglesias And Romeo Santos Tie As Biggest Winners Of "Premios Juventud" Awards
Miami, Florida (Top40 Charts/ Univision Communications Inc.) Against the backdrop of a colorful, fun-filled amusement park featuring a rollercoaster, Ferris wheel, carrousel, water slide, fireworks, light shows, popcorn stands and more, the "Premios Juventud" awards ceremony broadcast LIVE tonight on the Univision Network presented a parade of international superstars in 20 knockout musical numbers that kept the audience on its feet dancing for most of the three-hour show. Popular celebrities from all areas of the Hispanic entertainment world handed out awards in 27 unique categories within five areas: Music, Movies, Novelas, Sports, and Pop Culture.

Dominican bachata idol Romeo Santos and the multifaceted crossover star Enrique Iglesias tied in first place as the night's biggest winners, taking home five awards each. Santos dominated the competition's most popular Music categories, including Catchiest Tune, Red Hot Artist, Just Play It All, and My Favorite Video, in addition to clinching this year's My Tropical Artist, where he was up against other huge stars of the genre such as Marc Anthony, Prince Royce, and Olga Tañón. Nominated six times for two different songs this year -"El Perdedor" and "Bailando"-, Iglesias triumphed as My Pop/Rock Artist and shared the other four awards with his collaborators, Marco Antonio Solís ("El Perdedor") and Gente de Zona ("Bailando"). Other winners in Music categories include Bruno Mars, Gerardo Ortiz, Marc Anthony, Pitbull, Prince Royce, and Shakira. In non-music categories, Angelique Boyer, Eugenio Derbez, Enrique Santos, Lionel Messi, Sofia Vergara, and William Levy are among the celebrities who received 2014 awards. All winners were chosen by fans who voted online and on mobile via www.PremiosJuventud.com.

The "Premios Juventud" telecast kicked off with tropical-pop duo Chino y Nacho in a show-stopping musical production that vividly established the lively summer carnival-amusement park ambiance that took over the BankUnited Center for the remainder of the night. Amidst a fabulous display of dancers, fire jugglers, stilt walkers, lights and fireworks, Chino y Nacho sang their new hit "Tú Me Quemas" for the first time ever on U.S. TV, joined by the urban artists Los Cadillacs and MAFFiO.

Romeo Santos also debuted his newest single, the melodious tune "Eres Mía," on U.S. television tonight via "Premios Juventud." And Prince Royce delighted his fans with a soulful rendition of "Soy el Mismo," surrounded by framed photos of himself at different stages of his life and career. During his performance, fans were able to participate in a first-ever social media promotion that gave them the opportunity to win one of the photographs shown on stage, autographed by the Prince himself.

Adding to the show's list of firsts and exclusives, the late Jenni Rivera's eldest daughter, Chiquis, officially launched her singing career on Univision tonight and ended the speculation about what music genre she would choose by performing one of her own compositions, the banda tune "Esa No Soy Yo"; in a history-making, cutting-edge production never before seen on Spanish-language television, reggaeton star Wisin shared the stage with holograms of Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez, amazing the audience with their joint rendition of the blockbuster hit "Adrenalina"; and the famous Mexican rock-pop group Camila made their much awaited comeback after staying away from the limelight for the past two years.

One of the evening's most emotionally charged moments was the presentation of the Supernova Award to Enrique Iglesias in recognition of his ultra-successful international career. Minutes before receiving this honor, the Spanish-born pop icon crooned his blockbuster ballad "El Perdedor" and then turned up the energy level to the max when he was joined by one of the hottest groups right now, Gente de Zona and Cuban singer/composer Descemer Bueno, for a foot-stomping performance of the superhit "Bailando," which drove the crowd wild. The song won the My Favorite Lyrics category.

In addition, Pitbull "Mr. Worldwide" was also recognized with a special award, Ídolo de la Juventud (Youth Idol), which honors famous celebrities who have remained deeply committed to their community throughout their successful careers. In a vibrant setup that showcased a lit-up globe symbolizing his worldwide fame, Pitbull brought down the house with an explosive, four-hit medley including the World Cup theme song, "We Are One," and also featured two rising talents, rapper Don Miguelo and breakout teen sensation Austin Mahone.

Many other Latin music stars also performed live during the "Premios Juventud" spectacular tonight, among them Becky G, Carlos Vives, Chocquibtown, David Bisbal, El Dasa, Espinoza Paz, Farruko, Gerardo Ortiz, J Balvin, Jencarlos Canela, Juanes, Luis Coronel, Maluma, and Natalia Jiménez.

Hosted by Ana Brenda Contreras, Cristián de la Fuente, El Dasa, and Galilea Montijo, the 11th annual edition of "Premios Juventud" featured a slew of Hispanic celebrities as award presenters, including Aleyda Ortiz, Cosculluela, Danilo Carrera, Dulce Maria, El Bueno/La Mala & El Feo, Jan, Jorge Ramos, Karlos Rose, Larry Hernández, Leslie Grace, Nadine Velazquez, Paul Stanley, Rodner Figueroa, Roselyn Sanchez, Shaila Durcal, Tony Dize, William Levy, William Valdés, Ximena Córdoba, and Zuleika Rivera. And as special treat for the millions of soccer fans across the U.S., David Ospina, the superstar goalie for the Colombian National Team, made a special appearance as a PJ presenter on the heels of his amazing performance at the World Cup in Brazil.

One hour before the ceremony, Univision celebrities Alejandra Espinoza, Carlos Calderón, Rodner Figueroa and William Valdés hosted an Arrivals Carpet special that brought viewers every exciting moment of the stars' arrivals and presented exclusive interviews with numerous celebrities as they made their fun-filled way down a lively carnival arcade featuring games, trick mirrors, and cotton candy and popcorn booths, among many other amusement park amenities.
