NEW YORK (KOCH Records) - KOCH Records has signed on with The American Association of Independent
Music (A2IM), effective immediately. KOCH Records is one of the largest independents to join the coalition, and has dominated the Billboard Independent charts for the fifth year in a row, charting over 25 titles in 2005. KOCH's flourishing roster includes Doggpound Records, D-Block Records, Jim Jones, B.G., Jerry Douglas, Marcus Miller, Bob James, and children's audio properties such as The Wiggles, Bob The Builder, Strawberry Shortcake and more.
The Independent Music Sector has introduced, developed and supported nearly every new musical form which has impacted our society since the beginning of the recording industry. In the present day - perhaps more than ever -- the independents are vital to the continued advancement of cultural diversity and innovation in music.
One of the main A2IM objectives is to help develop both business and creative opportunities commensurate with those enjoyed by the major recording companies. The association seeks to level the playing field to better enable indies to compete effectively. A2IM represents a broad coalition of over 100 independent music labels to promote sector opportunity and enhance the market share of its combined membership.
KOCH Records President Bob Frank, who is also now a member of the A2IM International Committee, affirms, "We are looking forward to being a part of the team and working toward common goals that will benefit all independents."
A2IM President Don Rose adds, "We are very pleased to be working closely with KOCH Records and Bob Frank, whose terrific support for our coalition is already paying dividends. He believes, as we do, that when it comes to the independent sector, a high tide lifts all boats."
