New York, NY (Top40 Charts / Live Nation Entertainment) Marking a key expansion for the company, Live Nation Entertainment (NYSE: LYV) has formed Live Nation Concerts Germany with German concert promoter Marek Lieberberg to promote concerts and festivals in Germany, Austria and Switzerland beginning Jan. 1, 2016.
As the fifth largest promoter in the world, Marek Lieberberg will add over 700 shows and more than 2 million fans to Live Nation's platform of over 23,000 shows for 60 million fans, across more than 40 countries. Ticketmaster Germany will serve as the lead ticketing company, adding over 2 million tickets to its inventory. Under the terms of the deal, Marek Lieberberg will be chief executive officer of Live Nation Concerts Germany and Andre Lieberberg will serve as president.

Having them lead Live Nation's concert business for Germany is an ideal fit, and continuing to build on our global scale in concerts provides our sponsors with increased access to fans in an important European market while adding millions of tickets to our Ticketmaster inventory," said Live Nation Entertainment President and CEO, Michael Rapino.

Marek Lieberberg has more than 45 years of experience in concert promotion and creating the leading festivals in Germany. He has worked with Live Nation in the past to promote tours including Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, U2 and Madonna, and on his own has worked with Depeche Mode, Metallica, Bruce Springsteen, Michael Bublé, Coldplay,
Queen and
Celine Dion.
