LOS ANGELES, CA. (Top40 Charts/ Musicane) - Internet social commerce upstart Musicane will release their will.i.am Musicane store on August 28th 2007. This launch coincides with the world wide release of will.i.am's solo single "I Got It from My Mama", by Interscope Records.

A Musicane store is a media player that sits on personal websites, blogs and social networks selling digital and physical product. Musicane handles all functions from billing to delivery and completes the transaction right within the Musicane player, which can be spread by fans with a single line of code. will.i.am's Musicane player will debut on the websites of the Black Eyed Peas (https://www.blackeyedpeas.com) and will.i.am (https://www.will-i-am.com), as well as their social network pages. In a revolutionary move from a major artist, will.i.am is sharing the monies earned from Musicane product sales with fans that embed the store onto their blogs and social network profiles.

The digital music downloads sold via will.i.am's Musicane store will be DRM-free MP3's, assuring that the music will be playable on a broad array of portable and home music players. will.i.am fans also will be able to pre-order downloads of his upcoming album, "Songs About Girls", planned for release on Sept. 25, 2007. Fans who pre order the album will get a free download of the new single, as well as exclusive remixes.

The Interscope Records release of both the album 'Songs About Girls' and single "I Got It From My Mama" will be one of the first releases on The Universal Music Group roster to be simultaneously released digitally without any DRM restrictions to all digital business partners worldwide within the same album cycle as its physical release.

will.i.am, an a-list Grammy winning producer and member of the multi platinum selling Black Eyed Peas as well as the Head Of Marketing for Musicane, had this to say about the Musicane store "Musicane is a new platform where the artist has the ability to go straight to the user; from band to the fan, from the fan to the fan, no one in between ... from me to you".

This "me to you" idea is at the core of what Sudhin Shahani refers to as Social Commerce. "The Internet landscape today has made everyone a webmaster. Social Commerce is about users recommending, gifting and selling to each other within their social networks and blogs. This technology is relevant to all artists whether you're will.i.am or a high school garage band."

will.i.am and Musicane founders Vikramaditya Jain (President) and Sudhin Shahani (CEO) will be hosting an interactive press gathering at will.i.am's Hollywood Hills estate on August 24th from 12:00pm - 3:30pm. There will be multiple computer stations set up so all attendees can experience and play with Musicane.

Musicane, a product of myMPO, based in Santa Monica, California, has powered digital initiatives for major brands such as Sony BMG and Anheuser-Busch, and recording artists such as Grammy Award winner John Legend, among others.
